Scarce two volumes set (Vol. I, Vol. II) in the original cloth bindings. With illustrations by George Cattermole and Hablot Browne, including frontispiece to each volume, and many engravings. Published by Chapman and Hall, London, 1840. Publishers’ original decorative brown boards with gilt vignette on upper covers. Spines are lettered in gilt.

Condition
Covers are worn at corners, edges and spine ends. Front and rare covers of both volumes are loose, and slightly separated along the spine edges, but still held. Internally; the books are in fair/ poor condition, heavy edge wear on most pages. Scribbled pencil inside a couple of pages. Inner hinges are weak exposing the net at several places. Moderate foxing with all text and illustrations easily legible. There is a signature of Charles Dickens inside on of the books but looks not genuine (Please see pictures).
