Erg mooie en decoratieve katrol. Deze industriële katrol is waarschijnlijk afkomstig van een oude zeilboot, gezien het omhulsel met touw en een oog. Waarschijnlijk is het afkomstig uit Rotterdam, waar veel zeilboten kwamen vanwege de grote haven. De katrol dateert waarschijnlijk van het eerste kwart van de 20de eeuw en is (met oog) 39cm hoog, 19cm breed, 13cm diep en weegt 2,7kg.

De katrol is nog 100% origineel en lijkt zo uit een oud haventafereel te zijn meegenomen. In elk interieur is dit havenwerktuig een erg decoratief item en praatstuk, maar ook kan hij gebruikt worden om keukengereedschap aan op te hangen, of een kapstok, of lamp.

Erg mooi is de tekening van het hout, de glans erop en de slijtage door het gebruik en het schuren van het touw rond het hout. De katrol met de houten rol en de smeedijzeren nagels waarmee de houten omlijsting is geconstrueerd, geven deze katrol een sfeervolle en boeiende uitstraling! Uit de rol is een blokje gebroken (zie foto). De rol draait echter nog steeds en de katrol is nog steeds erg stevig. Het touw is droog maar stevig. Het kleine touw (waarschijnlijk gemaakt van hennep) waarmee het dikke touw rondom het oog is gespannen, laat hier en daar los. Het zijn gebruikssporen, maar ook sporen die veroorzaakt zijn door weersinvloeden. 

De katrol wordt vakkundig ingepakt en verzekerd verzonden.
