Vintage enamel sign – "Пушенето е забранено" (Smoking is Prohibited)
Dimensions: 30 x 20 cm
This is an original Bulgarian enamelled iron sign from the socialist era (circa 1960s–1980s), displaying the message "Пушенето е забранено" (Pusheneto e zabraneno – "Smoking is Prohibited").

The sign features bold red Cyrillic lettering on a clean white background with a red border—typical of official public safety signage in industrial and state-run institutions during the Cold War period in Eastern Europe. Such signs were commonly used in factories, government buildings, transport depots, and military zones, enforcing strict no-smoking regulations.

The enamel coating is mostly intact with minor corner wear, as shown in the photos. All four mounting points remain intact, preserving the piece’s structural authenticity and charm.

A classic example of industrial graphic design and Cold War-era control culture, ideal for collectors of vintage signage, Eastern Bloc memorabilia, or industrial interior decoration.
