Elegant William IV Mahogany Work Table – England, circa 1830–1835

A charming and refined example of early 19th-century British craftsmanship, this original William IV period work table embodies the transition between Regency elegance and early Victorian solidity.

This compact pedestal table features a rectangular top with two drop leaves, allowing for a variable workspace. Below, a pair of faux drawer fronts encloses a functional storage drawer, traditionally used for sewing or writing supplies. The base is supported by a central tapering column atop a rounded platform with four beautifully carved scroll feet, each fitted with original brass castors for mobility.


Condition: In good antique condition, with minor surface wear, scuffs, and marks consistent with age and use. Structurally sound and stable, with beautiful patina throughout.

Notes: A fine collector’s piece or decorative accent in any interior, this table is a versatile and elegant example of William IV era furniture, perfect as a side table, occasional desk, or unique statement piece.
