Early 20th Century English Tilt-Top Tripod Table – Handcrafted with Wooden Locking Pin

This early 20th-century English tilt-top tripod table combines practicality with fine craftsmanship. The circular veneered top (Ø 51 cm) displays an elegant marquetry pattern with a central star motif, executed with precision. Designed for versatility, the top folds vertically to save space and is held in place by a rare, original wooden locking pin—a characteristic feature of traditional English joinery from the late 19th to early 20th century.

The tripod base, with gracefully curved cabriole legs, is likely made from walnut or mahogany. The table stands 61 cm high when in the folded position and remains both stable and decorative whether in use or stored upright.

Though unmarked, the quality of materials and craftsmanship suggests an English origin circa 1900–1920, produced in the Georgian revival style.

Condition: Good antique condition overall. Minor surface marks and patina consistent with age. The folding mechanism and wooden locking system are intact and functional.
