De familie Van Paridon is ca. 1900 begonnen zijn in een boerderijtje in de Potgieterstraat in Amsterdam. Rond 1905 openden de broers Pieter (1876), Peter (1885) en Hendrik Van Paridon (1887) een atelier in de Rozenstraat 52 in de Jordaan, waar zij gipsbeelden maakten van componisten en mythologische figuren. Later gingen de Van Paridons, afkomstig uit een katholieke familie uit Baarn, over op religieus beeldhouwwerk.
