Nel panorama globale contemporaneo, Simone Bianchi è tra i maggiori interpreti dei più famosi supereroi che hanno segnato l’immaginario collettivo di intere generazioni. Superman e Batman, Iron Man e Spider-Man, Thor e Capitan America, oltre a Wolverine, gli X-Men (di cui ha ridisegnato la linea dei costumi per Marvel), solo per citarne una minima parte, sono tutti passati attraverso la fervida vena inventiva di Bianchi.

Le tavole originali che Simone ha disegnato per Star Wars sono state acquistate dallo stesso George Lucas, che li ha voluti per la propria collezione.

È stato il primo europeo a essere incaricato di eseguire il progetto Upper-Deck Marvel Masterpieces, oggetto nel 2018 di una doppia, contemporanea, esposizione: a Lucca Comics & Games e a New York, presso la Metropolis Gallery di Manhattan.

Nel 2020 Vincenzo Mollica ha voluto e curato la mostra Simone Bianchi, Amazing Talent nella cornice di Palazzo Vitelli a Sant’Egidio, a Città di Castello con oltre 200 dipinti.

Nel 2023 ai Granai del Museo Fattori a Villa Mimbelli a Livorno, si è tenuta la mostra Simone Bianchi, L’arte dei supereroi, curata dal Prof. Giorgio Bacci dell’Università di Firenze. Con oltre 120 opere tra dipinti, disegni preliminari e tavole interne, la mostra si è presentata come  primo esempio in Italia di affiancamento di un rappresentante della Nona Arte ai grandi Maestri dell’Ottocento, le cui opere sono esposte all’interno del Museo Fattori.

Simone ha un’anima prettamente musicale. Ha prestato i propri pennelli anche alla musica, dipingendo il manifesto ufficiale del concerto dei Tool a Miami e di quello degli Smashing Pumpkins a Denver, nel 2022. In Italia ha realizzato la copertina per l’album di Caparezza Exuvia, nonché il pop-up contenuto all’interno del vinile.

Questa è una delle opere originali donate per l’asta “Art for Karl”, promossa da Area Performance, da Lucca Comics & Games e voluta dagli artisti amici di Karl Kopinski.
