L’opera è l’originale della carta “Grotag Thrasher” realizzata per Magic: The Gathering per l'espansione  Worldwake nel 2010, dall'artista Jesper Ejsing 

Jesper Ejsing è nato in Danimarca nel 1973. Da sempre appassionato delle opere fantasy e specialmente della Terra di Mezzo, a soli 14 anni riceve il suo primo Dungeons & Dragons. Se il rivoluzionario gioco di Gygax stimolava la creatività di Jesper, le illustrazioni di Larry Elmore diventarono un obiettivo da raggiungere professionalmente seguendo le sue orme per diventare un artista fantasy.

Ha studiato letteratura danese e Storia dell'Arte già durante i periodi accademici diventa un illustratore freelance celebre in Danimarca. Nei primi anni come illustratore a tempo pieno ha realizzato illustrazioni e grafiche per svariati editori, senza poter dare un taglio personale, ma presto si è potuto concentrare sulle commissioni Fantasy e storiche, come sempre aveva desiderato.

A soli trent’anni arriva il tanto desiderato primo incarico per Dungeons & Dragons e non ha più lasciato il mondo dell’illustrazione per il gioco diventando un’icona per i più celebri card game come Magic the Gathering, Heartstone,  Warcraft.

Questa è una delle opere originali donate per l’asta “Art for Karl”, promossa da Area Performance, da Lucca Comics & Games e voluta dagli artisti amici di Karl Kopinski. Partecipando, non solo puoi aggiudicarti un pezzo unico firmato da un grande artista della scena fantasy internazionale, ma contribuisci concretamente a sostenere Karl, illustratore amatissimo, in un delicato percorso di cura e riabilitazione.
