Ikat antiguo de Sumba oriental (Indonesia) – Algodón natural teñido a mano – 268 x 152 cm (+ flecos) – ca. 1900-1930

Magnífico textil tradicional ikat de urdimbre (warp ikat) originario de la isla de Sumba oriental, Indonesia, compuesto por dos paneles tejidos en telar de cintura y unidos a mano. Elaborado en algodón hilado a mano y teñido con tintes naturales, con predominancia de tonos rojo óxido, negro azulado y blanco hueso.
La decoración se organiza en franjas horizontales con motivos simbólicos tradicionales: caballos (símbolos de estatus y poder), figuras zoomorfas y antropomorfas rituales, aves, y elementos geométricos. La complejidad del diseño y la calidad del tinte sugieren un uso ceremonial o prestigioso.

•	Flecos tejidos originales: +13 cm en cada extremo (Total 294 cm x 152 cm)
•	Peso total: 1051 g

Estado de conservación: muy bueno considerando su antigüedad. Presenta algunas irregularidades naturales del proceso manual, pequeñas imperfecciones y diferencias de tensión entre los paneles, lo que confirma su autenticidad artesanal.

Obra confeccionada entre 1900 y 1930, época en la que los ikats de Sumba se producían para ritos de paso, matrimonio o uso de nobleza local.
Pieza altamente coleccionable, ideal para museos, colecciones de textiles étnicos, decoración o estudio antropológico.
