Raro y elegante ikat ceremonial masculino – Timor Occidental, Indonesia – ca. 1940–1950

Magnífico textil ceremonial tradicional indonesio, confeccionado en tejido ikat a mano con algodón hilado manualmente y teñido con pigmentos naturales. Procedente de la isla de Timor Occidental, este tipo de tejido es conocido localmente como "tais mane", y se utilizaba tradicionalmente por los hombres en contextos rituales, ceremonias de boda o eventos sociales de prestigio dentro de la comunidad Atoni Pah Meto.

El diseño presenta franjas verticales decoradas con motivos geométricos y florales estilizados, en una armoniosa paleta de tonos negro, rojo óxido, beige claro y acentos púrpura y azul. En los extremos se conservan sus flecos originales torcidos, típicos de las piezas destinadas a ceremonias masculinas.
