L’opera è l’originale per il concept ispirato a uno stregone dell'Ordine della Luce per Warhammer Fantasy della Games workshop.

Karl Kopinski è attualmente uno dei principali maestri dell'arte dell'illustrazione in Europa. Ha sempre vissuto a Nottingham, dove ha avuto l'opportunità di collaborare con la Games Workshop, la rinomata casa produttrice di miniature a livello mondiale, e ha conosciuto artisti di grande talento come i fratelli Perry e John Blanche.

Dopo aver ottenuto notevole successo come illustratore per il famoso gioco di carte collezionabili Magic: the Gathering, la sua fama è cresciuta rapidamente e le sue straordinarie opere, che spaziano dalla rappresentazione storica all'arte fantasy e fantascientifica, hanno conquistato il mercato dei giochi da tavolo e dell'editoria ludica.

Nel 2015 Karl realizza il promotion poster di Lucca Comics & Games e dopo 8 anni torna a Lucca realizzando l'artwork della rinnovata mascotte di Lucca Games: il Grog. L'artwork di Kopinski è stato alla base di un lavoro collettivo che vede realizzarsi anche la scultura ad opera di Silvia Corso, dipinta da Lillo Petrolo, e riprodotta in formato gigante con una statua di cioccolato realizzata dallo chef Damiano Carrara

Di recente, Kopinski ha contribuito in modo significativo al successo internazionale dei giochi da tavolo di CMON come Zombicide e Cthulhu: Death May Die.

Questa è una delle opere originali donate per l’asta “Art for Karl”, promossa da Area Performance, da Lucca Comics & Games e voluta dagli artisti amici di Karl Kopinski.
