This remarkable Rotel RP-3000 is a fully functional direct-drive turntable from the late 1970s. It looks fantastic, runs perfectly stable and was serviced in May 2025. It comes with a brand new Jico Japan-made Technics EPS270C 757DS stylus and the original Rotel branded 7” single puck. It’s hard to find a RP-3000 in this condition.

The turntable features a 2-speed direct-drive system with pitch control, illuminated strobe, and manual cueing. The unit includes a static-balanced S-shaped tonearm with adjustable counterweight and anti-skating, compatible with a wide range of cartridges. Speed can be fine-tuned via separate pitch control knobs for 33 and 45 rpm.

During servicing moving parts were cleaned and relubricated where required. Pitch controls were cleaned and recalibrated to guarantee stable RPM and maximum pitch adjustment through the topplate controls. The original 70s power line filter components were upgraded to modern and safe X2 certified capacitors and resistors to guarantee at least another lifetime of use.

The motor starts quickly, holds speed accurately, and runs quietly. The tonearm lift operates smoothly and precisely.

A built-in spirit level is recessed into the brushed aluminium top plate, allowing for quick and accurate setup. The four feet are individually height-adjustable, making it easy to level the turntable on any surface.

The plinth has a veneer finish and is in very good condition, with a few marks and signs of age that are all visible on the included photos. The brushed aluminium top plate is in excellent condition. The original smoked dustcover is very clear and feels remarkably smooth. It shows only light surface marks from handling, and opens and closes correctly. The hinges hold the lid open. 

The turntable is fitted with a Technics National Panasonic 270C-II cartridge, correctly aligned and ready to use. Included is a brand new Jico Japan-made Technics EPS270C 757DS stylus. Included are also the hard to find original Rotel branded 7” single puck, the original anti-static matt and the original counterweight and anti-skating weight. A printed photocopy of the user manual is also provided, and so are a gold plated RCA cable and a ground cable.

This turntable will be packaged with care – based on extensive experience in shipping vintage audio – using a strong box, multiple layers of bubble wrap and foam padding, and with all parts securely supported.
