This magnificent famille verte porcelain jar from the Kangxi reign stands an impressive 45 cm tall, exemplifying the vibrant aesthetics and technical sophistication of Qing imperial porcelain. Of baluster form, the jar is richly enameled with alternating panels of birds among flowering branches and elegant still lifes of scholar’s objects — books, scrolls, vases, incense burners — all rendered in brilliant translucent enamels with fine black outlines.

The decorative palette, dominated by emerald greens, soft iron reds, yellows, and blues, is set against finely detailed diaper backgrounds filled with flower-heads, a signature of high-quality Kangxi wares. The scenes are framed within cartouches and separated by butterflies and floral motifs, creating a harmonious rhythm of color and imagery across the surface.

Unmarked to the base but unmistakably of Kangxi imperial style, the piece showcases the peak of famille verte craftsmanship — a marriage of painting precision and symbolic narrative.
