This striking, irreverent print by British photographer Michael Joseph captures the wonderfully bizarre logic of 1980s advertising: when in doubt, add nudity. Shot as part of a concept pitch for Eristow Vodka, the image shows a glamour model toasting the viewer with a glass in hand and very little else—except for a Soviet-style hat and diamante belt, both gleaming with Cold War kitsch.

Joseph, a master of tone and satire, gives the whole thing a surreal theatricality. It’s a time capsule from an era when creative directors genuinely believed that topless women could shift more vodka. This isn’t just a photograph—it’s an artifact from a marketing world that knew no boundaries and had no sense of subtlety. The image, naturally, was never used. But its legacy lives on in this one-off print, hand-signed with the inscription:
"Eristow Vodka / Cheers!" – Michael Joseph

The colour process adds a cool cyan wash that heightens the absurdity and makes the composition pop with icy humour. It’s unapologetic, provocative, and very much of its time.

Framed with a copper-coloured vintage gold edged frame, and custom-cut mount, this piece will be packed with alot of care and shipped using Colissimo. These are one-of-a-kind historical prints, handled with respect and affection. Because what better way to toast the excess of the 1980s than with a print like this?
