Je hebt het over een klassiek setje: de Marantz PM-62 MKII Revised en de Marantz ST340L. Een versterker en tuner uit een tijd waarin audioapparatuur nog gebouwd werd als een tank, maar met het oor voor finesse.

De PM-62 MKII Revised is een echte krachtbron uit de jaren ’90. Hij levert 70 watt per kanaal bij 8 ohm, met een extreem lage vervorming van 0,01%. Daarmee klinkt hij niet alleen krachtig, maar ook schoon. Hij heeft phono-ingangen voor MM en MC-elementen, dus ideaal als je graag platen draait. Solide gebouwd, weegt bijna 10 kilo, en hij ziet er ook gewoon nog goed uit (190x420x380 hxbxl in mm).

De ST340L tuner is wat ouder, begin jaren ’80, maar heeft die warme, analoge FM-klank die veel mensen vandaag missen. Geen overdaad aan knoppen, gewoon functioneel en goed. De ontvangst is netjes, met een signaal-ruisverhouding van 65 dB op FM – prima voor die tijd.

En die combinatie? Denk aan een goed ingespeeld jazzduo. De één strak, gecontroleerd en met veel body, de ander soepel en melodieus. Niet modern flashy, maar wél karaktervol.
