Primera edición. 4to. (21 x 15 cm.). [32], 266, [6] p., [37] h. de grabados. Sin fecha en el pie de imprenta (la Licencia fechada en 1721). Los grabados son xilográficos. La portada y los grabados, con orla tipográfica. Apostillas marginales. Firma de anterior propietaria en la guarda (Sor Magdalena Ortiz). Encuadernación de época en plena piel, con tejuelo en el lomo y cortes pintados.

Jaime van Haeften, nacido en Utrech en 1588 y muerto en 1648, tomó el nombre de Benidictus al tomar los hábitos. En la obra recuerda el camino de la Cruz, camino real de la virtud, que todos deben seguir sin desviarse del camino recto. Según Palau, la primera edición es esta de 1721 y añade: "corren ejemplares de otra edición de Valladolid, Godinez, sin fecha, 358 p." Hermosas láminas a toda página con escenas del Via-crucis dentro de orlas florales. Palau 111987.

Jaime van Haeften, born in Utrecht in 1588 and died in 1648, took the name of Benidictus when taking the habits. In the work he recalls the way of the Cross, the real path of virtue, which everyone must follow without deviating from the straight path. According to Palau, the first edition is this one from 1721 and he adds: " there are copies of another edition of Valladolid, Godinez, undated, 358 p." Beautiful full-page prints with scenes of the Way of the Cross within floral borders. Palau 111987.
