Zeer oude 4/4 viool van Friedrich  Wilhelm MEINEL  uit ongeveer 1875. Het is een Steinermodel met mooie ronde vormen. De viool komt uit een erfenis en er is zeker 50 jaar niet op gespeeld.  De klank is warm. De viool heeft zo te zien geen scheuren ,wel enkele beschadigingen .De vioolbouwer kon aan de binnenkant van de viool niets ontdekken.
De beschadigingen izijn te zien aan de rugzijde en de krans onderaan te zien ( zie  foto’s ). Het is al met al een hele interessante viool. De viool zat in deze zeer oude Franse vioolkist met koperbeslag.
