L'avanzata formulazione di particelle di ossido gamma-ferrico adsorbite al cobalto di SA l'ha resa la prima
cassetta ad alta polarizzazione non cromata.
I nastri per cassette ad alta fedeltà compiono un grande passo avanti verso la perfezione con il rivoluzionario
nuovo Super Avilyn (SA) di TDK. Le speciali particelle magnetiche ultra-raffinate di Super Avilyn possono essere compattate in modo più denso e uniforme sulla superficie del nastro per prestazioni di potenza migliorate su qualsiasi registratore a cassette con posizione di alta polarizzazione (Tipo II). 
La sua gamma di frequenze più ampia, i bassi livelli di rumore e la maggiore potenza massima in uscita sono ottenuti senza un'usura della testina superiore a quella di un normale nastro in ossido ferrico e drasticamente inferiore a quella del CrO2.

Super Avilyn ha un'eccellente risposta nelle basse e medie frequenze e uguaglia la risposta dei nastri cromati nelle alte frequenze. È compatibile con tutti i registratori a nastro di alta qualità attualmente disponibili; Se questi sono dotati di un interruttore di polarizzazione cromato, è consigliabile utilizzarlo per ottenere risultati ottimali. SA è inoltre alloggiato in un meccanismo a cassetta Laboratory Standard migliorato; molti componenti di questo meccanismo ad altissima precisione, come il doppio morsetto di serraggio e il foglio di rivestimento a bolle, non sono ancora stati eguagliati. Questo miglioramento ha creato un meccanismo altamente preciso e robusto, che riduce efficacemente qualsiasi deformazione strutturale ed elimina virtualmente wow e flutter. Anche l'allineamento del nastro alla testina è stato migliorato, rendendo il trasporto del nastro più fluido.
