Description

For sale is a beautifully preserved vintage portable gramophone by His Master’s Voice (HMV), a classic example of early 20th-century audio technology. This antique phonograph features the iconic “His Master’s Voice” branding, designed for playing 78 rpm records. The gramophone is housed in a sturdy case covered in black faux leather/ rexine with metal reinforcements, showcasing a rich patina that highlights its age and character.

Condition

External Condition of the Case

The case shows scratches and wear consistent with its age. The  leather handle is in pretty good condition for age : , the refine is scuffed in places, and the metal fittings have signs of oxidisation (as shown in the photos).

Internal Condition of the Gramophone

The gramophone’s soundbox model 5B is in good working order and this model has the auto brake that is in good working order this can be turned on or off. The turntable with felt covering is intact and in good condition, The winding handle has a wooden grip with some black paint loss,
