Calice liturgico in argento 800 con micromosaici – Brandizzi, Roma 1936

Calice liturgico realizzato nel 1936 dalla bottega Brandizzi di Roma, come attestato dal punzone inciso all’interno della coppa: “ING. A. BRANDIZZI – ROMA – CORONARI 11”.

L’intera struttura è in argento 800. La base è decorata con sei medaglioni in micromosaico vetroso policromo, realizzati con minuscole tessere in pasta vitrea. I motivi rappresentano simboli cristiani ben riconoscibili: croci, ancore, il cristogramma Chi-Rho con Alfa e Omega, motivi a stella.

Sul bordo della base è incisa una dedica in latino:
“ natalia de rossi io. baptae f. philippi ferrajoli vidva a. mcmxxxvi a. nuptiis l. s. p. ignatio d. d..” 

(Natalia de Rossi, figlia di Giovanni Battista, vedova di Filippo Ferrajoli, nell’anno 1936, in occasione delle nozze sacerdotali d’oro, lo donò a padre Ignazio.)
