Prachtige grote tekening met studies van Paulus en Gregorius., gemaakt in Arnhem en gedateerd 26 januari 1979.
 Onvoorstelbaar hoe Dulieu, zonder de mogelijkheid te hebben om te corrigeren, zo krachtig zijn figuren opzet. Kijk eens naar de meesterlijke expressies in de gezichten.

Een dergelijk gedetailleerde voorstudie benadert eigenlijk veel meer de kern van de schepping dan een uitgewerkte tekening. 

Jan van Oort (1921 - 2006) ontwierp in de 2e wereldoorlog het stripfiguurtje Paulus de Boskabouter wiens avonturen vanaf 1946 in Het Vrije Volk werden gepubliceerd. Van Oort noemde zich "Jean Dulieu" (Franse vertaling van "Jan van Oort")

Dulieu was een alleskunner, een veelzijdig en virtuoos kunstenaar op velerlei gebieden. 
Uiteindelijk zouden er tussen 1946 en 1984, met tussenpozen, zo’n 8.000 dagstrips worden gemaakt. Naast die krantenpublicaties verscheen Paulus in kleur in een groot aantal tijdschriften en kinderboeken (in vele landen vertaald uitgebracht). Jean Dulieu kreeg vele prijzen voor zijn werk en wordt tot de "Grote Drie" gerekend: Marten Toonder, Hans G. Kresse en Jean Dulieu.

De staat van de tekening is zeer goed. 
Een juweeltje van een van de grootste tekenaars die Nederland ooit gekend heeft.
