Hierbij een prachtige grote antieke badpop in uitstekende staat. Groot 48 cm. Een “Frozen Charlie” is een massieve porseleinen pop, het hele lichaam is uit één stuk gegoten. 

	•	Naam: De naam “Frozen Charlie” komt van het Engelse kinderversje “Young Charley”, waarin een jongen doodgevriest omdat hij geen jas aan wilde trekken. De poppen werden daarom spottend “Frozen Charlies” genoemd.
	•	Periode: Ca. 1850–1920
•	Herkomst: Vooral uit Duitsland (Thüringen), maar ook elders in Europa gemaakt.
	•	Gebruik:
	•	Als speelgoed
	•	In bad (vandaar ook de bijnaam “Bathing Doll”)
	•	Formaat: is vrij groot — dat is zeldzamer, want de meeste Frozen Charlies waren kleiner (5–20 cm). Grote exemplaren (zoals die van ±30–40 cm) zijn zeldzamer en waardevoller.
	•	Materiaal: Hoogglanzend porselein (niet bisque), wat past bij Frozen Charlies.
	•	Details: De handgeschilderde gelaatstrekken en het donkere gemodelleerd haar zijn typerend voor deze poppen.
