La distillerie Macallan se distingue par l'utilisation d'orge traditionnelle à faible rendement appelée "golden promise". Elle privilégie des alambics de petite taille, notamment les spirits stills, chauffés au feu de Sherry, ce qui limite les quantités mais favorise la concentration des arômes.

L'une des caractéristiques emblématiques du style Macallan est le vieillissement exclusif en fûts de Xérès (sherry), conférant au whisky une rondeur et une souplesse exceptionnelles.

Ce Macallan a mûri pendant 18 années complètes, exclusivement en fûts de chêne anciens en provenance de Jerez, en Espagne. Ces fûts, imprégnés de Xérès Oloroso et soigneusement sélectionnés à la main, confèrent au whisky une grande richesse et une belle complexité.

En dégustation, la bouche ronde révèle une expression riche avec des notes de chêne mûr, de gingembre et de raisin sec. Ce Single Malt exceptionnel est considéré comme l'une des plus belles réussites du monde du whisky.
