Cavalier d'autel Vaudou, culture Ewe, Togo.

Captivant personnage d'autel Vaudou Ewe du Togo. Le cavalier semble absorbé, le regard éloigné, il est dans sa tache, sa mission. Il tient un sabre dans sa main. Dans son dos il porte un fusil. C'est un chasseur, un guerrier et un protecteur. Il porte un haut de forme de style européen. Ce chapeau nous renvoie au Baron Samedi divinité du pantheon Vaudou Haïtien affublé du même chapeau. L'animal, sorte de cheval aux pates courtes, le porte avec assurance et dévouement. Des morceaux de métal forment ses yeux. Il est recouvert de plusieurs couches de peinture. Superbe patine ancienne. Il y a une présence dans cette oeuvre. C'est un objets d'autel Vaudou ayant vécu. Une belle pièce de collection ancienne et authentique. Circa 1950.
