The Cabinet is the first monograph and exhibition catalogue by renowned British photographer Miles Aldridge, published in 2006 in conjunction with his debut solo show at Reflex Gallery (Amsterdam).
This limited edition of 1000 copies presents approximately 50 richly saturated images, many of which had never been previously published, showcasing Aldridge’s signature cinematic style and obsessive attention to visual detail.
With an introduction by Marilyn Manson and a contribution by author J.G. Ballard, this book is more than a collection of fashion photography — it’s an exploration of beauty, anxiety, glamour, and decay, all wrapped in bold technicolor aesthetics.
The book was art directed by Alex Daniels and remains one of Aldridge’s most collectible and sought-after works.

Miles Aldridge (b. 1964, London)
Miles Aldridge is a British photographer known for his highly stylized, color-saturated images that blend the aesthetics of film noir, surrealism, and mid-century advertising with modern fashion photography.
Background:
    Son of famed graphic designer Alan Aldridge (known for his work with The Beatles and Rolling Stones).
    Studied illustration at Central Saint Martins in London.
    Transitioned from directing music videos to photography in the mid-1990s.
    First published in British Vogue in 1996.

Artistic Style:
    Uses meticulous planning, including storyboards and Polaroids, to create photographs that feel like movie scenes frozen in time.
    Themes often include domestic ennui, artificial beauty, sexuality, and repression, presented with a sharp, almost clinical precision.
    Known for photographing women in glamorous yet unsettling settings — elegant but emotionally distant.

Conditione. The interior of the book is in excellent condition, with clean pages and no marks. The binding is tight and fully intact. The cover is in good condition, showing only a single crease to the top corner, as shown in the attached photo.
