Very beautiful map by Petrus Bertius of Normandy in France, also showing parts of the surrounding area, including Paris on the right side of the map.
Map originally made by Barend Langenes and published by J. Hondius in Amsterdam in 1618 in a French edition of ´Géographie raccourcie par Pierre BERTIUS´ with text from Petrus Bertius.

Very good condition. Original hand coloring (very rare, only a few copies were sold with hand coloring). Never folded. Reverse side text in French

Louis Brion De La Tour (fl 1756-1803)
Beyond the fact that Brion was an engineer by profession and held the position of Engineer-Geographer to the King, little is known about his career. He published a wide range of statistical works and a number of atlases, published by the famous French cartographer Louis Charles Desnos (1725-1805).
Good condition. Some brown spots in the margins. Light impression. Original coloring. Wide margins. Blank verso.
