He specialized in depictions of pristine landscapes and seascapes. His works predominantly feature uninhabited mountain and forest scenes, often portraying snow-covered peaks, crystal-clear lakes, and roaring waterfalls inspired by the grandeur of Scandinavian nature. Occasionally, small houses are subtly included, hinting at human presence. This beautiful landscape with a thunderous waterfall is a prime example, directly inspired by the painter's Scandinavian homeland.
