Roberto Baldazzini (Vignola, 1958), è illustratore, designer e storico dell’immagine. Comincia ad affermare il suo originale tratto nei primi anni ’80  disegnando su riviste come Orient Express e Comic Art, nelle quali pubblica le storie di Stella Noris su testi di Lorena Canossa. Da allora le sue graphic novels sono tradotte e pubblicate in Europa, Stati Uniti e Sudamerica. Contemporaneamente lavora anche per la pubblicità ed il design (Vanity, Marie Claire). 
Nel 1995 inizia la collaborazione con la rivista Blue, creando vari personaggi ed alcune serie a fumetti di carattere erotico come Chiara Rosenberg (testi di Celestino Pes) e Beba.
Amato da Ettore Sottsass, Moebius e Nanni Balestrini, è considerato uno dei disegnatori più importanti del mondo; i volumi della serie Casa Howhard sono stati tradotti in cinque lingue.
Dagli anni ’90 fino ai primi anni del 2000 crea le immagini di diverse campagne pubblicitarie di grande successo, come quella della TIM, per cui inventa e disegna il personaggio "Tim McCardy e le sue fantastiche avventure", immagine iconica presente su tutte le ricaricard. 
In Francia su testi di Jean-Pierre Dionnet lavora alla serie Des Dieux et Des Hommes, pubblicato in Italia da Panini Comics. Invece con il libro illustrato L’inverno di Diego (The Box Edizioni, 2013), l’autore racconta in modo profondo vicende anche personali legate alla seconda guerra mondiale, intrecciando storie a lungo respiro storico e generazionale.
Baldazzini è anche uno straordinario pittore: i suoi grandi dipinti ad acrilico sono stati esposti in diverse mostre personali in Italia, in Francia e negli USA. Il suo stile pittorico è stato da diversi critici accostato a quello del pittore americano Patrick Nagel.
Come saggista ha pubblicato: Sexyrama – L’immagine della donna nelle copertine dei periodici dal 1960 al 1979 (Coniglio Editore, 2008), e Sofia Loren, rapita dal cinema – I fotoromanzi di Sofia Lazzaro (1950-1952) (Struwwelpeter, 2010).
Per Sergio Bonelli Editore, Baldazzini ha disegnato il romanzo a fumetti dal titolo Hollywoodland, con i testi di Michele Masiero.
Per la Astorina è stato uno degli illustratori che hanno illustrato il famoso personaggio noir per il libro "Diabolik visto da lontano" - 2002 
Molte sono le mostre personali a lui dedicate, l’ultima presso la Galerie Glénat nel 2022 a Parigi.
I personaggi femminili più straordinari da lui creati sono: Chiara Rosenberg, Zhara, Ines la ragazza pneumatica, Zelmira, Beba...

Con la galleria OttoJanWillem ha realizzato diverse raccolte di litografie tratte da suoi disegni a matita e dai suoi inchiostri. Con OttoJanWillem edizioni Baldazzini ha pubblicato il libro Bondage Hotel.
