Deze sculptuur in bisque porselein van Maria met het kind Jezus straalt eenvoud en waardigheid uit. Maria draagt Jezus liefdevol op haar arm, waarbij het kind een rijksappel vasthoudt, symbool van zijn heerschappij over de schepping. Met zijn rechterhand maakt hij het zegenend gebaar dat verwijst naar zijn dubbele natuur als mens en god.

De sculptuur kenmerkt zich door de prachtige detaillering, zoals de verfijnde plooien in Maria’s mantel en de zorgvuldige uitwerking van de gezichten. De monumentale hoogte en het gewicht geven het werk een statige aanwezigheid, geschikt voor zowel devotie als decoratie.

Hoogte 61 cm, in goede staat met normale gebruikssporen, geen breuken of restauraties.
