This striking silkscreen by Ruprecht Geiger (1908–2009) is a prime example of his distinctive use of luminous, saturated colours—especially his iconic fluorescent reds, pinks, and oranges. The composition demonstrates Geiger’s lifelong fascination with colour as an emotional and spatial force, rendered here in a bold, abstract format with a strong visual impact.

Condition: Excellent. Colours are vivid and the paper is clean, quite large size. 

Ruprecht Geiger was a central figure in post-war German abstract art and a founding member of the ZEN 49 group. His works are part of major public collections, including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich, and the Städel Museum in Frankfurt.

Ruprecht Geiger as a founding member of the ZEN 49 group alongside artists such as Willi Baumeister, Fritz Winter, Gerhard Fietz, Bernard Schultze, and Hans Hartung. His work aligns with the broader trajectories of post-war abstraction and colour field painting, echoing influences and dialogues with artists like Josef Albers, Mark Rothko, Barnett Newman, Ad Reinhardt, Ellsworth Kelly, Günther Förg, Gotthard Graubner, Otto Piene, Heinz Mack, Hermann Glöckner, Imi Knoebel, Blinky Palermo, Walter Stöhrer, Ernst Wilhelm Nay, Emil Schumacher, Georg Baselitz, Anselm Kiefer, Sigmar Polke, Gerhard Richter, Yves Klein, Lucio Fontana, and Piero Manzoni. His exploration of pure colour and minimalist form also finds resonance with contemporaries in American minimalism and colour theory such as Donald Judd, Dan Flavin, Frank Stella, and Kenneth Noland.
