18th-century silver mustard pot.

Punches

On the face of the base: parrot-head discharge punch for silver pieces, engraved on March 8, 1786; re-punched at the Great Paris Registry between 1798 and 1809; re-punched with the crab punch for silver pieces in 1838.

On the base's handles: crab hallmark from 1838.

On the reverse of the base: a guild mark with letter and date P for Paris 1788 by Henri Clavel II and Jean-François Kalendrin, a charge mark for large works, crowned A, an illegible silversmith's mark.

Recipient: crab punch from 1838 for fine works, repeated in many places.

The glass container is missing.

A retaining bolt is missing from underneath the container.

Engraving of two interlaced Ls, reminiscent of the initials of King Leopold of Belgium.
