Gorgeus - Les Favoris, Antique French Clock Set by O. Ruffony (d. 1925)

A Stunning Antique French clock set by the Italian sculptor O. Ruffony entitled Les Favoris (The Favourites).
 
It features a beautifully modelled figure of a young woman, reclining with a bouquet and a pair of birds. The lidded side vases are classical in style with swags of flowers and musical trophies, and are mounted on matching marble bases. The set is beautifully made in patinated bronzed metal mounted on variegated specimen marble bases, it is in very good condition.
O. Ruffony (d. 1925) was an Italian sculptor working around the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries. 
 
The piece is signed with an impressed mark to the figure, and a plaque is mounted on the front of the case with the artist and the title of the piece. The dial is enamel on copper with a delicate floral swag. The piece is modelled in the round and so would display beautifully in the centre of a room.
 
The French movement is by Fritz Marti and has the maker's mark on the movement backplate. It is of the maker's usual high quality and is in excellent, clean and running condition,n having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is original. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell.
