Spanish hand-painted piece in the Meissen style - • Rococo pastoral scene inspired by Boucher/Fragonard
A beautiful hand-painted porcelain plaque depicting a romantic Rococo-style pastoral scene of a young couple in 18th-century dress with sheep and countryside background. The fine painting shows excellent detail and vibrant colors, reminiscent of the works of Boucher and Fragonard.
The back of the plaque bears the marking "Pintado a mano" ("hand-painted" in Spanish) along with crossed-sword style marks, confirming this as a Spanish hand-painted piece in the Meissen style, most likely mid-20th century.
The plaque is mounted in an ornate gilt frame with floral and scroll decoration. The frame carved gilted wood shows age-related wear, flaking, and patina which adds to its antique character.
This beautiful painting was acquired from a prestigious antique house in Spain a few years ago.
