Eenvoudige messing microscoop uit 1878 van Carl Zeiss te Jena.
In de tafel is de naam C Zeiss Jena gegraveerd plus het serienummer 3336 (= augustus 1878)
Compleet met drie oculairs en twee objectieven in bijbehorende houten opbergkist (29x12x10 cm) -- afsluitbaar, originele sleuteltje aanwezig. De objectieven zijn opgeborgen in twee messing kokertjes
Bijgevoegd twee kartonnen doosjes met objectglaasjes. Totaalgewicht ca. 2,5 kg.

Deze messing microscoop betreft  een van de kleinere Zeiss-statieven, die werden geproduceerd rond 1880.
Het statief is vrij stevig gebouwd; het werd aanbevolen voor laboratoriumgebruik en kan niet worden gekanteld. De microscoop heeft een eenvoudige vierkante tafel met veerklemmen, onder de tafel is een draaibaar diafragma bevestigd. Er is een vlakke spiegel in een beugel op een zwenkarm, waardoor schuine belichting mogelijk is. De grove afstelling gebeurt met een schuiftubus, de fijnafstelling met een micrometerschroef op de bovenkant van het statief. De voet  messing is rond met een doorsnede van 8 cm.

Volgens de Fabrikationsliste over de jaren 1874 - 1895 zou serienr 3336 verkocht zijn aan P.M. Stiggelbout te Texel in augustus 1878. Stiggelbout was aldaar "Algemeen en Plaatselijk Heelmeester".
