Großes Eisen-Schloss, wohl 17./18. Jahrhundert

Handgeschmiedetes Kastenschloss aus Eisen, gefertigt für eine schwere Tür oder Truhe. Charakteristisch ist die massive rechteckige Bauweise mit seitlichem Riegel, der durch eine einfache Mechanik bewegt wird. Die Vorderseite zeigt eine dekorative, teils barock geschwungene Grundplatte mit vier Befestigungslöchern. Die Mechanik ist vollständig erhalten, der Schlüssel fehlt jedoch.

Die Verarbeitung – Nieten, Schmiedespuren und die einfache, aber robuste Konstruktion – sprechen für eine Entstehungszeit im späten 17. bis 18. Jahrhundert. Solche Schlösser wurden in Wohnhäusern, Wirtschaftsgebäuden oder Kirchen verwendet und dienten vor allem der Stabilität und Sicherheit.

Die Oberfläche zeigt eine dunkelbraune, gewachsene Rost-Patina, typisch für altes Eisen mit jahrhundertelanger Nutzung.
