AKAI-HAKO (THE RED BOX) Toshio Saeki Wailea Publishing/2007/Japanese/210*275*25 Akai Hakko: New Edition of Toshio Saeki's Colored Paintings, a collection of works by the Japanese painter and illustrator Toshio Saeki (1945-2019). Born in Miyazaki Prefecture and raised in Osaka. He worked as an illustrator at a commercial design studio for several years, but felt uncomfortable with the reality that commercial design was invading his work, and became a freelance illustrator. Influenced by the works of Tommy Ungerer, whom he admired, his humorous works with motifs of eros and horror were highly acclaimed, and when he sent his privately printed cards to related people and artists, he received compliments from Shuji Terayama and Tatsuhiko Shibusawa, and a feature in the popular magazine at the time, Heibon Punch In 1972, he was featured on the cover of John Lennon and Yoko Ono's album “Summertime in New York City,” and he was suddenly climbing the ladder to fame. This is a complete remake of Saeki's third book, a masterpiece published in 1972. It is also composed by Keisuke Nagatomo, the same as the first edition. With red obi.
