After graduating from the design department of a crafts high school, Moriyama worked as a commercial designer, then as an assistant to photographer Takeji Iwamiya and Eikoh Hosoe, before becoming an independent photographer. This book is part of a series of photo books published by Asahi Sonorama in the 1970s, and consists mainly of works presented at the 1977 Nikon Salon exhibition “Tokyo: The World of Amigure,” a sequel to his first book “Nippon Gekijo Shashincho,” a play on the title?
