Imari porcelain, also known as Imari ware, is a style of Japanese export porcelain produced in the Arita region It is named after the port of Imari, from which it was shipped to Nagasaki for export to Europe. 
Imari ware is known for its brightly colored, intricate designs, typically featuring underglaze blue combined with overglaze red, gold, black, and sometimes other colors. The style often includes detailed floral patterns and a tendency towards elaborate decoration. 
This particular set features birds and lotus flowers, which in Japanese culture symbolize perfection and immortality
