Three-line central inscription with the Kalima (Islamic declaration of faith):
"La ilaha illa Allah, wahdahu la sharika lahu"
“There is no god but God alone, He has no partner.”
The marginal inscription, engraved in early Kufic script, names the mint Wasiṭ and the date AH 95.

The central field contains Surah al-Ikhlāṣ (Qur’an 112) in four lines, emphasizing the oneness of God.
The outer margin quotes Surah al-Tawbah (9:33):
"He it is Who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth, that He may make it prevail over all religion..."
