Spanish School, specifically the Catalan school of the 19th century. Signed J. RAFELS and dated 1894. Large format oil on canvas: 140 cm X 70 cm. A symbolist scene showing doves on an ecclesiastical altar. With lots of details, and excellent pictorial precision. The painting in good antique condition, with slight flaws and signs of age. There are a few professional restorations. The frame added in one of the photos is just to show how a frame can enhance the painting even more. No frame is included.
