Essential Books, New York, 1945. Good to very good condition. Without original dust jacket but with a beautiful facsimile jacket protected with a mylar covering. Weegee's first book. 1st Edition. 1st Printing. Signed and inscribed by Weegee in his famous GREEN ink on the title page. Inscription reads: "To Jerry Gerard, Weegee 1946" with a X! Boards and interior: Very good condition, rough textured oatmeal cloth boards with a very minor bump to right bottom. See pic. The spine is in good condition but slightly darkened from shelf exposure. Interior is excellent with no dog-eared pages and virtually no evidence of foxing. Just a very faint yellowing on some pages. The inside binding is tight. On the title page you can see a faint shadow where I think a bookplate might have been removed. Very small pencil doodle on the interior of the rear board. Ends of pages a bit dusty due to sitting on shelves for 80 years. See pics for all this detail.
