Inutile de présenter Nakamichi, l'une des marques les plus connues des audiophiles, entrée dans l'histoire de la haute fidélité. Ce qui peut sembler être un lecteur CD standard à première vue peut en réalité contenir jusqu'à six CD, en plus du CD en cours de lecture. Le système Musicbank (brevet Nakamichi) permet de l'utiliser sans ces chargeurs amovibles peu pratiques, mais en tous points comme un simple lecteur de CD.
Un lecteur bien construit, doté de composants haut de gamme, pour un son exceptionnel. Le modèle supérieur, le CD Player 1, qui diffère de celui-ci par certains détails, est également à la base du célèbre McIntosh MCD 7008. Il s'agissait, en pratique, du même appareil, mais amélioré par McIntosh pour s'harmoniser avec les autres composants de la société américaine.
