You are bidding on a very fine  4/4 violin, labeled Joannes Franciscus Pressenda q Raphael fecit Taurini anno Domini 1846.
The instrument remains in good condition with some old repaired cracks on top, new rosewood set up and new bridge. The whole length of the violin is 596 mm and the back 359 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 165 mm; middle bouts: 114 mm; lower bouts: 204 mm. 
Materials: very nice two pieces narrow flamed maple back with matched sides and scroll and straight high grained spruce top. Golden-brown-reddish varnish with tears and wears. 

The sound is very deep, rich, powerful, suitable for soloist.
