A rare 1998 vintage 16-year-old Full Proof Heavy Trinidad Rum from the closed Caroni distillery by the renowned independent bottler Velier. The barrels used for this limited-edition Caroni Full Proof Heavy Trinidad Rum were matured in Trinidad throughout the entire period. With an Angel's Share of over 77%, this is an incredibly high-quality molasses rum with great power and depth. The excellent local climate and good storage conditions ensured the exceptional quality of this exceptional rum, which was bottled at cask strength 64.5% ABV as the 32nd release by Velier in 2015 in a limited edition of 2,750 individually numbered bottles.
The Vintage 1998 16 Years 32nd Release Caroni Full Proof Heavy Trinidad Rum displays a complex blend of tar, chocolate, tropical fruits, rubber, and leather on the nose, while the palate offers notes of chocolate, smoky barrels, licorice, and caramel – an intense, classic Caroni rum with traditional flavors that becomes even more balanced after a period of rest.
