Art Deco Serving Tray -1910–1920 – No Reserve

A beautiful Art Deco serving tray with a refined French polished Mahogany wooden rim and elegant brass handles. The centre of the tray is crafted from colored cork, decorated with a geometric star motif, and protected under a fitted glass plate.

Condition:
In very good pre-loved condition with some minor traces of use consistent with age. Brass handles firmly attached, no cracks or scratches in the glass. The polished wood still retains its warm golden tone and elegant patina.

Provenance & Background:
This tray was retailed by J. Okhuizen Galanterieën in Culemborg, a distinguished Dutch shop active in the early 20th century.
The word galanterieën refers to luxury goods and fine household items, often sourced from leading workshops in the Netherlands and abroad. These shops catered to the rising middle class of the Belle Époque, offering decorative objects, stylish serving ware, and fashionable accessories that reflected refinement and modern taste.

This piece is a fine example of such quality household art—combining functionality with Art Deco aesthetics.
