Deze prachtige kerstgroep, vervaardigd uit gips, toont Jozef en Maria met het kindje Jezus in de kribbe, en een os en ezel. De beeldjes zijn eenvoudig en beschilderd in levendige kleuren en gouden accenten, wat de scène een warme, feestelijke uitstraling geeft.

Het geheel verkeert algemeen in goede staat, met normale gebruikssporen. Merk de lichte schade op aan de hoorns van de os.

De traditie van het opzetten van een kerststal werd in de 13de eeuw geïntroduceerd door Franciscus van Assisi, die geïnspireerd door zijn bezoek aan de geboorteplaats van Jezus in het Heilige Land, een levende kerststal oprichtte om de aanbidding van Christus te bevorderen.
