Rolex GMT‑Master “Transitional” Reference 16750
Serial 7XXXXXX – circa 1981

A rare early Reference 16750 Rolex GMT-Master, offered in its pure transitional form - delivering the aesthetics of the classic 1675 with the modern upgrades that mark Rolex’s first major technical evolution in this line.

Key Features & Collectability
■ Glossy‐style dial retains the vintage matte look, but with white‑gold surrounds around the hour markers, the very first dial finish introduced on this reference before the later gloss “white‑gold surround” dials appeared in
■ No Date” dial signature, lacking the printed “Oyster Perpetual Date” designation - some early dials even omitted “Date” despite having a date window, adding to the rarity
■ Housed in the same traditional 40mm case form as the 1675, with acrylic crystal and twin‑lock crown. Internally upgraded to the Caliber 3075 with quick‑set date and hacking seconds, doubling the water‑resistance rating to 100m and beating at 28,800vph while retaining the old‑style case architecture 
■ Among the most collectible transitional examples: produced just as matte dials were phased out and glossy white‐gold surrounds introduced around 1985; original matte dials are extremely rare today, as many have been replaced during servicing
■ The classic aluminum Pepsi insert shows patina/early signs of lacquer fading

Bracelet
■ Fitted on the Rolex Jubilee “Anniversary” bracelet ref. 555B, fully compatible with 16750 and well‑preserved.
■ Sized to comfortably fit wrists up to 19 cm, with full complement of links and minimal stretch.

Condition
■ Good overall vintage condition. Unpolished, with light sings of wear preserving crisp bevels and original lines. Dial uniform matte finish, free of re‑paint or gloss conversion.
■ Hands and indices aged to a warm, creamy tritium patina matching vintage character.
■ Bracelet clasp stamped consistent with early 1980s production.
