Attractive late-reign silver drahm of Khosrow II (Chosroes II Parvez), struck during one of the most dramatic periods of the Sasanian-Byzantine wars.
Issued in Regnal Year 33 = 622/623 AD from the imperial mint WYHC (Veh-Ardashir / Ctesiphon), the empire’s capital near modern-day Baghdad.
Obverse: Crowned bust of Khosrow II right, wearing the winged crown surmounted by a star and crescent; Pahlavi legend “Khusro, King of Kings.”
Reverse: Fire altar flanked by two attendants; star to left, crescent to right; regnal year 𐭫𐭩𐭩𐭩 (33) left, mint 𐭥𐭩𐭧𐭩 (WYHC) right.
