The front : featuring a bold red butterfly with shimmering gold accents on a black ground. In Japanese culture, butterflies are symbols of transformation, joy, and elegance — a graceful motif often used to celebrate new beginnings.
The reverse : crafted from a black silk obi with the traditional stair-step motif (Kaidan-mon). This auspicious pattern represents steadily “rising step by step,” and is cherished as a symbol of progress and good fortune.
The edges : framed with black satin piping code, giving the cushion a refined, gallery-like border that highlights the artistry of the vintage silk obi.
Lining : with an inner silk lining, each seams are carefully reinforced and bound with acrylic binding for durability and a finish worthy of luxury interior décor.
