Workbench - Work Table in Walnut with Marquetry, Two Drawers, and Lockable Compartment - Walnut

Work Table in Walnut with Marquetry, Two Drawers, and Lockable Compartment – ca. 1850–1880 A finely crafted small sewing or work table designed for storage and practical use. Made in Europe, ca. 1850–1880. Walnut veneer with inlaid marquetry detail on the interior compartment. The use of walnut veneer, the geometric marquetry on the top, and the fitted interior with multiple compartments and a spool holder are techniques often found in 19th-century European fine small furniture made for women’s sewing and work needs. Fitted with two drawers: the lower drawer is lockable with key present, while the upper section opens with a lift-top revealing multiple fitted compartments. Condition: well-preserved with minor wear consistent with age, surface scratches, and natural patina to wood and veneer. Structurally solid, all drawers and top open and close properly. Dimensions: H 79 × W 49 × D 44 cm. Note: For safe transport and to reduce shipping costs, the legs will be detached for delivery. #artdeco #industrialstyle #vintage #antique #antiques #vintagedecor #homedecor #interiordesign #decor #vintagefinds #vintagestyle #antiquefurniture #retro #interior #idea #walnut #19thcentury #sewingtable #marquetry
